Francine Joyce Armstrong passed away early on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, TX. She was born in Paris, TX to W.C. and Juanita (Dotson) Owens on January 21, 1937, and she was the oldest of three children.

Francine came from very humble beginnings, moving to California with her mother, grandfather, and three sisters to escape the ravaged landscape of Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl of the 1930's. Growing up on a farm she learned the value of hard work, which was demonstrated throughout her lifetime. She was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She became very active in the Seventh-day Adventist church in her later years, serving as a community services leader at the Fresno Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fresno, CA, and as an assistant in community Services at the Grandview Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grandview, TX.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita, father, W.C., step-father, Jack, and sister, Carolyn.

She is survived by her 5 children, Larry (Pat) Gunnell, William Armstrong, Robert (Lisa) Armstrong, Paulette Armstrong, and Jonathan (Rocio) Armstrong, and her sister Carlene (Ed) Wildgans. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 10 ^th at 2:00 PM in the DeBerry Funeral Chapel.
