Obituary

Retired U.S. Air Force Major Frank V. Griggs, 93, of Denton, Texas went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 30, 2025.  He was born February 17, 1931 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Everett Earl and Lola Bernice (Tyer) Griggs.  On December 1st 1956 in Sherman, Texas, he married Janelle Levon Inman.  They were married 68 beautiful years.

He joined the U.S. Air Force on January 6, 1950 and dedicated 20 years to the service of his Country, retiring August 31, 1970 from Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.  As a pilot, he flew the following: F-86, F-102, KC-97, and B-52.  He was a man of many hats:  realtor, builder, substitute teacher, and Fultz News bookstore owner.  He loved playing dominos and playing cards.  He served as a Deacon at Highland Baptist Church in Denton, Texas and Friendly Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri. He loved the Lord and served the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife Janelle Levon Griggs of Denton, two children, Kelly Griggs and his wife, Kelly Lynn of Denton, Texas , Kim Bates and her husband, Jackie of Ringling, Oklahoma;  a brother, Delbert (Jay) Griggs of Sumner, Illinois; grandchildren, Jeremy McCormick, Lainey Fergueson and husband Eric, Andy Griggs and wife Rachel, and Miles Mckeown;  great-grandchildren, Brennar McCormick, Macy, Clayton, Ella Fergueson, and Ryder Griggs.

Services will be held February 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
