Franziska K. Torres, affectionately known as Francis, was reunited with her beloved husband, Jaime Torres-Rolon, in the Kingdom of Heaven on November 20th, 2025. She passed peacefully at the age of 87, in Denton, Texas, with her daughters by her side.

Born in Bamberg, Germany on September 27, 1938, to Kordula Knoblach and Joseph Durcholz, Francis grew up in wartime Germany, developing the strength and resilience that defined her adult character. It was in Germany that she met Jaime, a spirited young American soldier, with whom she would share her life. Their courtship was a cherished memory for Francis, often shared with close friends and family.

In 1961, Francis and Jaime married and relocated to the United States, where they began a family. Francis embraced American culture, quickly learning English and proudly earning her American citizenship. Their family grew to include five energetic children, whom Francis fervently reared and nurtured. As a devoted wife and mother, she mastered cooking and managed a busy household, often single-handedly while Jaime was deployed overseas.

After Jaime's distinguished military career, the family retired in Lawton, Oklahoma, where they spent many quiet years. Over time, they welcomed grandchildren, and Francis became the altruistic matriarch that will remain her legacy. Nostalgic traditions, laughter, and lavish meals were shared in their pristine home, cherished by her family.

In May of 2021, Jaime preceded her in passing. Francis spent her remaining years with her eldest daughter, Patricia, and her husband Bill Hanson in Sanger, Texas. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and her guilty pleasure, The Game Show Network. She maintained her feisty, independent nature throughout her life, even gaining a reputation as a candy bandit.

Francis is preceded in death by her parents, Kordula Knoblach and Joseph Durcholz, and her brother, Karl Heinz Knoblach. She is survived by her five children: Francis Torres of Hemphill, Texas; Patricia and her husband Billy Hanson of Sanger, Texas; Roberto Torres of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Rebecca and her husband Stephen Butler of Navarre, Florida; Sharon and her husband Daile Vance of Lafayette, Georgia; her dear niece Elfriede Knoblach; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 10:00AM to 11:00AM, followed by funeral services on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Francis will be laid to rest at Boliver Cemetery.
