Obituary
Fredrick (Rick) John Ferdinandsen, 72, of Ponder, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born September 15, 1943 in Chicago, Ill., to Fredrick and Alvera Coffee Ferdinandsen.
He married Georgette Leonard in Chicago on February 22, 1976. He worked for Wal-Mart in Sporting Goods and was known as "The Fishing Guru". He was a member of Glory of Zion.
Rick is survived by his wife, Georgette; daughters, Lynette Fisher and Kristin Ferdinandsen; sons, Bob Ferdinandsen, Joel Ferdinandsen and Donald Ferdinandsen; sister, Gail Connolly, cousin Georgia Yakel and 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Chapel in Denton, Texas with Pastor Joe Knight officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
