His career included working for notables, DuPont Chemical and Texas Instruments. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start several small businesses for chemical and solvent distribution, product formulations, analytical chemistry, and providing expert testimony in the courtroom.

His upbringing in the oil and gas industry, combined with his analytical chemistry background, allowed him to be very instrumental in shaping processes and policies used in the industry today. He worked closely with the Railroad Commission of Texas to ensure public safety. Through the years of his career, many of his ideas and work have resulted in multiple patents being granted.

He loved the outdoors, wildlife, working with horses, recreational shooting, woodworking, metal working, and motorcycles.
