Gary Mack Harper, 72, of Denton, Texas passed away on August 17, 2020 in Denton. He was born on August 14, 1948 in Denton to Mack and Betty Harper. He graduated Denton High School in 1967 and attended University of North Texas for two years. He married the love of his life on February 28, 1997 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

If you knew "Pops" you knew he was the apple of his parent's life. He loved growing up and living in Denton all his life. He loved hanging around family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandchildren. He loved retiring and spending time and travelling with his beloved wife.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Harper, sons, Jason Harper of Dallas, Lee Brooks and wife Catherine of Lake Kiowa, daughters, Cathy Redfearn and husband Paul of Aubrey, Judy Brooks of Callisburg, grandchildren, Rowdy Akin and wife Leah, Valery Moore and husband Timber, Scott Lambert and wife Ashley, Calvin Redfearn, Craig Brooks, Misty Akins, Clarissa Brooks, and David Brooks, great-grandchildren, Emma Lozada, Vaughn Moore, Avery Akins, Quay Moore and Willow Lambert He was preceded in death by his mother and father, son, David Allen Brooks, daughter, Kim Harper and his precious tea cup poodle Princess Di.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
