Stanley "Gene" Carter, 74, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Gene was born on March 4, 1951, in Denton, Texas, to Ted and Verga Carter. A lifelong music enthusiast, Gene was a talented musician and a proud member of the band The Lambert Brothers. He had a deep passion for Bluegrass music and found great joy playing on the Denton square with his bandmates.

He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Angela and Jennifer, and cherished every moment spent with them.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Carter Runge and Angela Schuster, along with Angela's spouse, Kari Schuster; his granddaughter, Madison Runge; his brother, Glenn Carter; and his lifelong friend, Mack Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and several other beloved family members.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at DeBerry Funeral Directors.
