George Peter Baine III, born on March 15, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to George Peter Baine, Jr. and Claire Elizabeth Baine, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at Medical City Hospital in Denton, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Vilma Mary Baine; his children: Chip Baine and wife Amy, Mike Baine and wife Janice, Steve Baine and wife Kristi, and Sharon Harden; his brother Edward Baine; 13 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Marjorie and James; and his beloved daughter Debra Jean Mills.

George served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1962, earning a Good Conduct Medal. After his service, he worked in a steel mill before joining Matthews International Corporation in Pittsburgh as a machinist. Later transitioning to a sales role, George's career with Matthews spanned 25 years and brought him and his family to Texas, where they settled in the Lake Cities area.

On April 1, 1959, George married the love of his life, Vilma. Together they built a life filled with love and shared experiences. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, George cherished time with his family. He was deeply involved in his children's lives, attending countless football, basketball, and baseball games during their upbringing.

George had a passion for golf and was an avid aquarist who found joy in setting up fish tanks and watching his fish for hours. Known as a "Mr. Fix-It," he enjoyed working around the house and tackling projects big and small.

George will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A Memorial Service for George will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
