George Thomas Smith, 75, of Denton passed away June 23, 2013. George was born March 7, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Ray Smith and Angeline Czubachowski Smith. He married Frances Rivera on September 2, 1961 in San Angelo, TX. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. George was the Director of the X-Ray Department at Westgate Hospital and a X-ray technician at Denton Community Hospital.

George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Frances Smith; daughters, Marilyn Mearon and spouse Louis, Kathy Barta and spouse Tommy, and Karen Bell; son, Michael Smith and spouse Lissa; brother, Jerry Smith; and six grandchildren Christopher, Cameron and Casey Smith, Preston and Nolan Barta, and Keegan Bell.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home on Thursday June 27, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
