Obituary
Georgie Gay Shirley was born on November 2, 1925 in Ada, OK. to John Harvey and Mary (Molly) Jane Gay. She moved to California and married Kenneth Merriman in 1950, they divorced in 1964, and he preceded her in death in 1982. In 1978 she married Richard L. Shirley; he preceded her in death in 1995. Her parents, siblings, two granddaughters and one nephew also preceded her.
She is survived by three daughter: Janet Kay and husband Dean Wilson of Aubrey, TX; Phyllis Jean Lawrence of Grove OK and Diana Gay and husband Gerald Campbell of Cape Girardeau MO. She also leaves six grandchildren: Christi Wilson-Fager and husband Terry, Lisa Pellham, Brenda Marie Quiring and husband Brandon, Lindsey Hope Lambert and husband, Mark, Christopher Lawrence and wife Alisha, Keri Hurt and husband Derek; seventeen great grandchildren,. She also is survived by four nieces and two nephews.
She moved to Aubrey, TX in 2004 and resided with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing on April 16, 2014 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Sherman Drive Church of Christ where she had many friends. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, watching old movies, visits with family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren and working puzzles.
A memorial service will be conducted at DeBerry Funeral Chapel in Denton, TX on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:30 A.M.
