Geraldine "Geri" Newton Arispe went to be with Jesus on August 20, 2023 in Sanger, Texas.  Born on December 6, 1953 in Denton, Texas to Howard and Juanita Newton.  Early on in Geri's life, her mother passed away.  Her loving sister and brother-in-law, Buddy and Sandra Howard, nurtured and encouraged her for the rest of her years.

Geri graduated from Sanger High School and was a proud Sanger Indian all of her life.

Geri held many professions in her life, all of which she loved.  During the early years of her daughter's lives, she owned and operated an in-home daycare.   In 1990, she attended Ogle Cosmetology School then opened The Country Nail Boutique. She was a nail technician for many years where her clients became lifelong friends. Finally, Geri went back to her true calling, opening The Kids Clubhouse Learning Academy in 2001.  Gammie (as the daycare kids called her) left an indelible mark on over 200 children's hearts and minds over the next 17 years.

Geri is survived and forever remembered lovingly by her daughters Stephanie (Josh) Payne of Krum, Natalie Arispe of Denton, bonus son Joe Arispe of Ponder, bonus daughter Adriana Moore of Tennessee, grandson that she was "mom" to Christian Picaso of Denton, grandsons Creed Payne, Cooper HIll, Cyler Payne, Casen Payne and Caven Genter all of Krum, siblings Jimmy Newton, Joyce Norman, Neda Moore, Sandra Howard and many nieces and nephews.  Also, a very special friend Tony Juarez.

Geri is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edward and Franklin Newton, sisters Jo Brown and Betty Gossett, and bonus daughter Vanessa Pyatt.

A Celebration of LIfe will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. on August 26, 2023 with a visitation starting at 1:00 P.M.
