Gerardo Bocanegra Sr. went to his Heavenly home to be with the lord on Saturday, October 8th at 12:42 PM. He died at home Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old at the time of his passing. He was born in Laredo, Texas on October 4, 1958, to Tomas Bocanegra Sr. and Josefina M. Muniz-Bocanegra. He lived in Denton most of his life and he worked at Jostens Mfg. for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ina Bocanegra, they were blessed with 3 children, Jerry Bocanegra and his wife Melissa, Roy Bocanegra and Ceci Bocanegra, all of Denton. Their Grandchildren are Andy Aviles and wife Stephany, Tomas Bocanegra and Yvette, Gilbert Garza, Christopher Garza, Lily Bocanegra, Olivia Bocanegra and Delilah Fielding,  they have 3 Great Grand Babies, Emory Aviles, Bella Aviles and Emina Bocanegra.

Also surviving him are his Mother Of Dilley Texas:  Josefina M Muniz-Bocanegra, His Sisters Irma Patino and her husband Arthur, of Detroit Michigan, Clara Mauricio, of Detroit Michigan, Claudia Bocanegra, of Dilley Texas, Chela Bocanegra, of Dilley, Maria Bocanegra of Dearborn, Michigan and Brenda Skeene of Kentucky, 3 brothers all of Dilley Texas,  Guadalupe, Dago and Rudy Romo. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his father Tomas Bocanegra Sr., his brother Tomas Bocanegra Jr, His brother Joe Bocanegra and most recently his Grandson Gabriel Bocanegra. His Grandparents Jose and Maria Muniz, and his Father and Mother in Law, Alfredo and Rebeca Zepeda.

Services will be at DeBerry Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial immediately after the service at Roselawn Cemetery.
