Gilbert Leroy Salas, 70, of Denton, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2026.

He was born on April 11, 1956, to Raymond Salas Sr. and Sophie Pino in Muleshoe, Texas.

Gilbert was warmhearted, generous, kind, and gregarious. He adored celebrations and spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, siblings and friends.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Edith Vandervoort, daughters Catherine Veloz, Vickie Gamez, Kristy Gauna, Whitley Luengas, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and siblings Dorothy Ozuna, Daniel Salas, Diana Wilkerson, Charles Salas, JoAnn Salas, Rebecca Nolan and Suzie Luna.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10AM to 11AM followed by funeral services at 12PM and interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
