Obituary

Glen Ray "Fat" Tuley, 92, of Justin went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. Glen was born to Blan and Rena Tuley on September 8, 1930, in Justin, TX.

He has been a lifelong resident of Justin other than a few years while living in Irving, TX. He knew his roots were here (in Justin) and he wasn't a city boy so back he came.

When Glen was two months old, his dad was killed in a car accident and he was raised by his mother and loving grandparents, who had a farm west of Justin. Farm life suited him well, those were fun and happy times for him. He attended school in Justin, played basketball, baseball, loved fishing and hunting, and hanging out with friends.

In his teenage years, he had a horse named "Blackie", which he rode miles across pastureland to see his girlfriend Betty Sue Wright who lived in Drop, TX. He and Betty Sue eventually married on December 27, 1947. They had three daughters; Glenda Sue, who died 3 months after birth due to a fatal disease, then had Ruth Elaine "Ruthie", and Regina, who were all the apple of his eye, and he was always eternally proud of.

In his young married life, he worked hard hauling hay and doing whatever jobs he could find just to make a living. Then after a few hard years, he went to work at Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth, then to the transportation business driving for Mayflower, which led him to Kaiser Aluminum, whom he retired from in 1985, after receiving a million-mile award for no accidents or tickets.

He was a member of Justin Church of Christ. Although, in later years he attended First Baptist in Justin. Glen and Betty Sue after 32 years of marriage sadly divorced in 1979 but remained good friends throughout their lives until her passing in 2017.

Glen eventually remarried Mildred Green and continued living in Justin where he started a small cattle business, which he enjoyed piddling with. Mildred passed away in 2019 and Glen has been blessed to be able to take care of his self with his daughters and families assistance until he passed on Wednesday. He never wanted to leave his home and what a blessing that he never had to. Glen had three grandsons, Jeff, Thomas, and Rodney, who he loved spending time with whether it be fishing, boating, hunting, helping with FFA projects, watching sports, or just sitting around. They had his heart.

As time moved forward, he was blessed to have four great granddaughters, two great grandsons, one great-great granddaughter and one great- great grandson. We also want to acknowledge Christopher Cope, his wife Alana, and their beautiful children Tye and Ava as daddy loved them like his own. They were always there to lend a helping hand with big smiles for him and hugs that warmed his heart. Sometimes it takes a village to help out and daddy was blessed having many who loved him.

"Daddy rest in peace, you're always loved and, in our hearts, until we meet again on the other side"
