Glenda Colene Carpenter Davis Dial, 88, of Denton, Texas passed away at Medical City Hospital of Denton on July 17th, 2025. She was born August 9th, 1936 in Denton. She was the daughter of William P. and Oleta Reed Carpenter of Argyle, Texas. She resided in Argyle until marrying her first husband Charles Larry "Sonny" Davis in 1952. Sonny was a sergeant in the Air Force and they were stationed in Hobbs, New Mexico. Glenda moved back to Texas after Sonny was killed in a military accident in 1955.
She married Bun Dial, who was the owner of Dial Machine and Welding in 1957. She retired from Victor Equipment, CO. after 22 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, son Keith Dial, and brother Bill Carpenter.
She is survived by her daughters Terry Davis Dean of Denton and Jennifer Lynn Colby of Dallas, grandchildren Amy Dean James of Granbury, Texas, Austin Kazali and Alanna Castaneda of Dallas, great-grandchildren Tanner James and Mason Mahin of Granbury, Texas, her sister-in-law, Jackie Carpenter and a number of nieces and nephews who called her "Auntie Colene" and her faithful dog and companion Toby Keith.
Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Home on Monday, July 21st from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be in DeBerry chapel on July 22nd at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
