Glenice "Ruth" Vogel, 93, passed into the arms of our Lord on January 2, 2021 in Denton, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Vogel, her oldest daughter, Mary Vogel, and her granddaughter, Mandy Mitchell.  She is survived by her children, Gary Vogel (Carolyn) of Denison, TX, Nancy VanKirk (Steve) of Wichita Falls, TX, Susan Vogel of Denison, TX, Teri Reeves (Alvin) of Denton, TX, Joe Vogel (Pamela) of Lewisville, TX, Jacque Bresnahan (Tom) of Coppell, TX, 22 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren.

A city girl born in Parsons, KS, Ruth married the love of her life, country boy Bill Vogel, in 1946. They began raising their six children in Parsons, but then followed their jobs with the Katy Railroad in 1957 down to Denison, TX where they added a seventh child to the family.  After fourteen years there, they finally found their forever home in Denton, TX in 1971. After arriving in Denton, Ruth worked for Rex Cauble for several years before taking a position at Texas Woman's University for over 20 years as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Nursing.  During this time, she was an active member and volunteer at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she and Bill were instrumental in helping with the start of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School.  She and Bill also enjoyed participating in the United Commercial Travelers of America fraternal organization and following the TWU Women's Gymnastics team and traveling around the U.S. for their meets.

Her passing is deeply mourned by her surviving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.  The family is forever grateful to Peggie Seay for her kindness, friendship, and loving care of Ruth and Bill for many years.  A private ceremony this week will be followed later in the year by a celebration of Ruth's life.  She will be interred next to Bill in Denison, TX.  Memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Denton, TX at 2301 N Bonnie Brae St. Denton, TX  76207 or through clicking: https://tinyurl.com/ICCSchoolDonation .
