Glenn Ray Reeves passed from this life to his reward
on April 1, 2023 after a long struggle with various health issues, including dementia and cancer.
Glenn was born on May 4, 1939 in Hereford, TX to Irvin Atlas and Cleta Robbs Reeves. He attended Hereford High School, excelling in sports before graduating in 1958. He later attended Lubbock Christian College and West Texas State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts in 1966. While at West Texas State, Glenn met the love of his life Marilyn Willmon, and they were married on September 5, 1964. After graduation, the couple moved to Ft. Worth, where they welcomed sons Joel and Jeff in 1969 and 1971 respectively, before moving to Colorado soon after Jeff was born. Opportunities in Colorado allowed Glenn to hone his construction trade for a few years, but as work dried up, the couple made the decision to move back to Texas in 1974, after which son Eric was born in 1975.
Glenn enjoyed a long career in construction, with an initial focus on residential trim carpentry, later transitioning to custom staircase construction as his career progressed. Glenn rarely missed his morning coffee with other contractors and friends at the local Whataburger, and was extremely active in Denton Lions Club, serving several years as president and on the district board for Drug Awareness. Glenn attended Singing Oaks Church of Christ and worked with Marilyn to support the Arms of Hope ministries.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Cleta Reeves, and by triplet daughters who died in infancy.
Glenn is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 58 years; son Joel and wife Connie of Richardson, TX; son Jeff of Denton, TX; son Eric of Austin, TX; sister Kay Nell of Irving, TX; brother Tommy and wife Ginger of Alexandria, LA; and grandchildren Matthew and Alexandra.
