Gordie Ray "Junior" Parnell, 90, of Forestburg, passed away Thursday, September 03, 2015 in Lewisville. He was born July 12, 1925 in Choudrant, LA to Algie and Edith Humphries Parnell. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Beverly Poynor in June of 1979 in Forestburg. He owned and operated Circle Barber Shop. He barbered for 55 years and enjoyed spending time on the farm tending cattle, hunting, fishing and spending time with is many grandchildren whenever he could. He was a member of Forestburg Baptist Church and 32nd degree Scottish Rite and Shriner.

Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 9:00 – 10:00 prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Bill Kimbley officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Gary Parnell of Hickory Creek; step-daughter, Paula Craig of Forestburg; brother Jack Layne Parnell of Houston; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
