Grace Helene Tosaunt, 82 of Oak Point, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born on August 20, 1941, in Bremer County, Iowa to Edwin and Helene (Dorn) Lohmann.

She attended kindergarten in a 1 room schoolhouse near Tripoli, Iowa. She attended Grades 1-8 at Saint Paul's Lutheran School in Readlyn, Iowa. Grace attended high school in Tripoli, Iowa and graduated in 1959. She attended Pitzi's Beauty School in Waterloo, Iowa.
She then moved to Denver, Colorado where she attended the  the University of Colorado (Boulder), and graduated in 1969 with a B.S. in education. Grace attended the University of Northern Iowa, and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in education in 1977. Grace's educational career began in Pueblo, CO where she taught for a year and a half. Then she spent the last 30 years of her teaching career with Waterloo Community Schools. For 23 years she taught remedial reading, the last 5 years she taught Reading Recovery .

Grace had a love and devotion to teaching that was unmatched.
Reading and development was her passion.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents; Helene and Edwin Lohmann. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Erling and Ronald Lohmann.

She is survived by her children Benjamin (Kristina) Wright of Indianola, Iowa and Laura (Robert) Blackledge of McKinney, Texas and her 4 dearly loved grandchildren Paris (22), Aiden (20), Ella (16), and Liam (8) Blackledge.
Also surviving are her siblings Susan Eschen of Craig, Colorado and David (Susie)Lohmann of Triploli, Iowa.
