Graciela Verdin, 71, of Sanger passed away on December 30, 2019 at her home. She was born in Robstown, Texas to Candelario and Narcisa Gamez.
She was known by various nicknames: Gracie, Chella, Shortie, Shorta, Moms, Mamo, she attended St. Anthony's Catholic church and Del Mar College, she worked several assembly jobs, Home Interior and retired from North Texas Plastic & Color Cups in Sanger, TX. The eldest of 3 siblings only daughter of Candelario and Narcisa Gamez, she raised for four girls as a single parent, until she met the love of her life, Jose Verdin. They married on July 3, 1993, whom she loved whole heartly.
She loved being with family and friends bbq and enjoyed the outdoors while watching her grandchildren at play. She was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and never missed a game. She loved drinking her coffee while immersed in coversation with her other daugther Esmerlda Guttierrez, finally she loved watching old movies like Touched by an Angel, Heat of the Night while attending to her pet Lyla.
She is survived by her husband Jose Verdin, daughters; Anna Hernandez and husband, Carlos of Sanger, Emelda Mikel and husband, Jeremy of Hudson Oaks, Texas, Belinda Lees and companion, Allie Ivison of Hudson Oaks, Texas and Desiree Gonzales and husband, Anthony of Sanger, Texas, brothers; Rudolfo (Rudy) Gamez and wife Esmeralda of Aubrey and Martin Gamez and companion, Dottie Bolinger, of Indiana, grandchildren, Alyssia Gonazales, Mathue Mikel, Jonathan Mikel, Alorra Gonzales and Angelique Gonzales, brother, sister and mother-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends and her pet, Lyla.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6-8PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, Texas. The family dinner will be held at the Sanger Community Center in from 3-7:00 P.M.
