Gunter Knight 86 of Denton passed away January 3, 2022 in Denton.  He was born November 29, 1935 in Ponder, Texas to Cecil and Rosa Gunter Knight. He was a graduate of the University of North Texas. He was member of the First Baptist Church of Denton and the North Texas Shooters Association.  He was a self-employed businessman and entrepreneur. Gunter married Delores Kay Anderson of April 3, 1969 in Dallas, Texas.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Park, Dr. Jeff Williams will be officiating.

He is survived by his wife Dee Knight of Denton, sons, Mel Knight and wife Kathy of Sanger, Brandon Knight and wife Jill of De Moines, Iowa, Brother Derwood (Shug) Knight, grandchildren, Austin Knight, Audie Smirl and husband Dusty, Nash Knight and wife Megan, great grandsons, Gunter Smirl and Dane Knight.
