H. D. (Buddy) McSween left this world December 15, 2018. He was born September 22, 1922, in Blooming Grove, Texas, to Robert and Lovie McSween. He was a graduate of Denton High School. Buddy served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II and sailed to South Pacific and European battle fronts on seven different Liberty ships. After the war Buddy began a career in the cattle business with his father in Argyle, Texas. He married Wynona June Bell in 1949. The couple raised two sons, Roger and Chris, and continued the cattle business for 40 years. In 1990 Buddy and June retired to Aubrey, Texas, where he started a welding business. He worked at welding construction, building barns, fences, and trailers until age 90.
Buddy McSween is survived in death by his wife of 69 years, June; his son, Roger, and wife Elizabeth; his son, Chris, and fiancée, Nancy Hernandez; and grandchildren, Roy McSween; Joseph McSween; Morgen McSween and her fiancé, Jeremy Beeman, and his son Jesse; and Stephanie Hamby and her children, Jessica and Jasmine Sanchez. He is also survived by his sister, Mary, and husband Ray Lagleder, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Presbyterian Hospital and Good Samaritan for their diligent service. It is the family's wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of choice.
