IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold Eugene
Clampitt-Mcgar
September 29, 1949 – October 12, 2025
Harold Eugene Clampitt-McGar, 76, of Alvarado passed away on October 12, 2025 in Burleson, Texas. He was born in Denton on September 29, 1949.
Harold was raised in Denton, Texas, where he attended Denton High School and was known for his athleticism. After graduation, he owned a service station before becoming a truck driver—a career he truly loved. Later, he worked at UPS, rising to the position of supervisor. Eventually, he moved to Lubbock and began a successful career in car sales at Scoggin-Dickey, where he was honored as the #1 car salesman in the State of Texas—a distinction he was immensely proud of. For many years Harold was the jail minister at the jail in Daingerfield, Texas. After retiring, Harold made his home in Alvarado, Texas.
If you knew Harold, you knew how deeply he loved his children, how fondly he spoke of his years on the road, and how passionate he was about selling cars. His smile could light up a room, and above all, he loved the Lord—and he wanted to make sure you did too.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Farmer and her husband Archie Farmer Jr of Paris, TX, sons, James Harold McGar and his wife Jana McGar of Denton, TX, Danny Joe Clampitt and his wife Jessica Clampitt of Alvarado, TX, Kristopher Harold McGar and his wife Cheryl McGar of Virginia, and grandchildren, Archie Farmer III, Taylor Clark, Noah McGar, Elizabeth Vancil, Abigayle Farmer, Brooke-Lynn McGar, DJ Clampitt, Savanna Vasquez, Sierra Gates, and Marshall Miller along with several great-grandchildren.
