Bowman
August 22, 1943 – April 2, 2018
Harrol Bowman, 74 of Aubrey, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 22, 1943 in Ardmore, OK. to J.E. and Minnie M. (Morrison) Bowman. Harrol married the love of his life Diane Marie Dimick on March 15, 1963 in Lincoln, NE.
Harrol joined the Navy after graduating from Ardmore High School in Ardmore, OK in 1961 and served his country honorably until December of 1981. After retiring from the Navy, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX where he earned his degree in Theology in December of 1983. He then answered the call to pastor First Baptist Church, Aubrey, TX where he faithfully served until retirement in December of 2012. In retirement, he enjoyed ranching and serving as Chaplain for Marketplace Ministries, where he continued to do the Lord's work. Through his ministries, Harrol built countless relationships and touched many with his kind, honest, and caring approach. Through his efforts, he impacted many lives and made lifelong friends. One of his special joys was spending time with his grandkids. He always found ways to make them laugh.
Harrol is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane Bowman of Aubrey, sons, John Bowman and wife Mary Beth of Aubrey, Matt Bowman and wife Nicole of Rowlett, brother, John Bowman and wife Marlys of Ardmore, OK. and five grandchildren, Hunter, Lauryn, Tyler, Alex, and Casey Bowman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Minnie Bowman, twin daughters, Michelle and Denise Bowman and his twin brother, Carrol Bowman.
Interment services will be held for U.S. Navy Ret. Chief Hospital Corpsman, Harrol Bowman at 11:15 A.M. on April 10, 2018 at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Chris Walden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The First Rock Fellowship Building Fund, Aubrey, Texas in honor of Harrol Bowman.
