Harry Eldon (Tom) Locklear, 78, of Denton, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born on November 14, 1935 in Goldthwaite, Texas to Harry Eldon Andrews and Willie Retta Horton Andrews. He was then adopted by Elmo Wayne Locklear. He married Nancy Bailey on August 26, 1960 in Weatherford, Texas and was a Paratrooper in the Korean War. He graduated from Weatherford High School and North Texas State College, and was a member of the Singing Oaks Church of Christ.
Tom was the owner of Red Wing Shoes and was a humble servant of God, Country, and Family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 6-8:30 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Singing Oaks Church of Christ with Bob Bentley officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Goldthwaite, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Bible School at Singing Oaks Church of Christ, to St. Jude's Hospital, or to the Singing Oaks Church of Christ Benevolence Fund.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Bonnie Mockler and Peder Mockler, and Penny Riley and husband Vince; son, Andrew Locklear and wife Becky; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Willie Locklear.
