Harry Patrick "Muscles" Long, 66, of Mobile, AL passed away in Denton on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on September 22, 1954 to Katha Lee (Fuller) and Harry "Pat" Long.
Harry graduated from Davidson High School in 1972 and served in the US Navy from 1972 to 1974.
Harry was a huge Alabama fan, an avid reader of Stephen King, and a cherished football, baseball, and softball coach at Theodore Athletic Association. He never met a stranger and was known for his outgoing, social attitude and goofy humor. Keeping people laughing was one of Harry's best traits. The only thing surpassing Harry's love for the Crimson Tide was his love for his family.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Katha and Harry Long, his grandson Tristan Long, sister Elizabeth Mercer, and ex-wives Madeline Bailey and Christine Desmond Long. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Medaris (Tony) of Denton, Texas, Hayley Long of Denton, Texas and Ashton Long (Randy) of Mooresville, North Carolina, his son Harry "Pat" Long (Marcy) of Denton,Texas, his ex-wife Nell Cole, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A small memorial will be held in Denton Texas with immediate family. In lieu of flowers please donate to St Judes Children Hospital at https://www.stjude.org or you can also donate to a children's sports organization of your choice in his honor.
