Helen June Reed, born on January 1, 1946, in Pampa, Texas, passed away on September 25, 2024, in Denton, Texas, at the age of 78. She was the beloved daughter of Daniel and Beulah Reed who were blessed with seven children. Helen was raised in Pampa and attended Pampa ISD.

After graduating from Pampa High, Helen pursued a career in education, earning her Bachelor of Science from West Texas University in Kinesiology and Special Education. She later became certified with the Academy for The Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professional from University of Texas.

I witnessed and amazed that Helen taught a blind student to cross an intersection.
Helen's teaching career began with coaching volleyball in Hereford, Texas. She later taught in Alamogordo, New Mexico, but Texas was always home. She concluded her 44-year teaching career in Lewisville, Texas.

Helen was predeceased by her grandfather, James B. Owens; his son, Dwayne Owens; her parents, Daniel and Beulah Reed; her brothers, James, Charles, and Andy Reed; and her brother-in-law, James C. Nash II.

She is survived by her brothers, Howard and Linda Reed of Pampa, Texas, and Jess and Doris Reed of Pampa, Texas; her sister, Norma Reed Nash, Leona, Texas. Many nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews who loved their Aunt Helen. Special friends Mary Rando and her cherished neighbor family will also hold her memory dear, also special friends, Evelyn Brockett and Her special "partners" in crime school family, Laurie Lewis, Sharon Eagan, Patrice Christian, Sherry Bojarski and Nickie Pitts.
