Helen Vivian Williams, age 100, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Denton, Texas. She was born June 1, 1913 in the community of Poetry, near Terrell, Texas to Carson and Flora Wood. She married Elmer Williams on April 10, 1929. They were married for 62 years until Elmer's death in 1991.
Helen attended the community school in Poetry. She worked as a nurse until retirement. Helen and Elmer moved to Denton in 1987 to be close to their daughter and granddaughters. She was a member of Cooper Creek Baptist Church.
Helen is survived by daughter Linda Tonn and her husband Dan, granddaughter Jennifer Tolin and her husband Clay, granddaughter Courtney LaGrone and her husband David, and great-grandsons Cade Tolin and Case Tolin (due July 17).
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. A private burial will be held at Camp Ground Cemetery, Poetry, Texas.
