Helyn L. McGee, 87, of Denton passed away on May 18, 2017, in Denton, Texas.  She was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Lattie Earl and Ruby (Smith) Jones on May 16, 1930.

She was an administrative assistant for most of her life, retiring at the age of 85. In addition to cooking, she loved playing dominos and cards. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denton.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Sproles of Denton and Gina Morgan and husband Walter of Dallas; sons, Mike Underwood and wife Angel of Stem, N.C. and Chris Underwood and wife Jen of Fairfax, VA.; sisters Mildred Khoury, Vanita Bell and Berta Moyer and brother Lattie Jones, all of Oklahoma. Grandchildren include Colin and Megan Flanery; Andy, Duncan and Tate Morgan; Alicia Swanson; and Hannah, Caleb, Tyler, Mark and Jonathan Underwood. Her great-grandchildren are Everly Haynie, Meadow Flanery, LIllianah Swanson, Giulia Swanson, Cora Swanson and Ruby Swanson.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, Gene Jones, grandson, Ryan Flanery and son-in-law Loftin Sproles.

The family wishes to thank Ray of Sunshine Senior Care and V.N.A. Hospice for their service and support. Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 9-10 AM. Services will commence at 10:00 AM, following the visitation. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton, Texas.
