William Henry Shoopman, 87, of Denton, Texas went to his eternal home on January 17, 2024. Henry was born in Lawton, Oklahoma to Anna Laura and Jack Shoopman on March 7, 1936. He passed away surrounded by family after a prolonged battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Henry married Leda June Martin August 7, 1954, while he was a senior at Faxon School. The Shoopman's moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1955 where Henry attended Cameron College. They moved to Dallas in 1958 where Henry was a meat market manager for Wriggley's Grocery. They moved to Denton in 1962 where Henry managed a meat market, then owned a Texaco service station and a donut shop. Henry became an agent for State Farm Insurance in 1968. He retired in 2001 after a long and successful career.

Henry and Leda attended First Baptist Church in Denton where Henry received the honor of Deacon Emeritus. He was a charter member of The International J. I. Case Heritage foundation and a member of The Gideon's International.

Henry is survived by his wife, Leda Shoopman of Denton, Texas, son, Tim and wife Jennifer Beck Shoopman of Denton, Texas, brother, Jimmy Shoopman of Kingston, Oklahoma, grandsons Baron and Brock Shoopman of Denton, Texas, Will Koberick of Fort Worth, Texas, granddaughters, Annsleigh, Ella and Landry Koberick of Denton, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Laura and Jack Shoopman, brother, Jackie Shoopman and daughter Jessica Shoopman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Dr., Denton, TX 76201, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Celebration of Life Service to be held, 1:00 p.m., Thursday January 25, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, TX 76201.
