Hillary Alexandra Medelberg's Obituary

Hillary Alexandra Medelberg of Krum, Texas, passed away at her home on June 14, 2018. She was born on July 7, 1959, in Dallas to Diane (Johnston) and the late William Lusk.

Sometime in the early 1980's, while being pursued by hordes of men, Hillary fell for an average-looking guy named Tom, who quickly became her best friend and proved to be the love of her life. This was a real-life Beauty and the Beast story.  Having found happiness with her soulmate, Hillary found her true calling as a mother. She was devoted to her four children, and her sons were substantially more handsome than their father. She lived for them and loved them unconditionally — she would even let them stay home from school so they could see what happened on General Hospital with her. She taught her family the art of going on vacation and only caring about if the hotel offered room service and what movies you could rent. After her family, Hillary loved Slurpees, brownies, romance novels, Movie Tavern popcorn without butter, and Outback Steakhouse cheese fries. Some may even say she was a cheese fry's connoisseur.

Hillary loved to sing and had a self-described "voice of an angel." Anyone who has ridden in the car with her has probably heard her belt out the strange lineup of Dean Martin, George Michael, Justin Bieber, and the Black Eyed Peas. She loved Flo-Rida much to the dismay of her children. When she was told the lyrics were suggestive, she would tell her children they were wrong and go back to listening to Right Round.

Although not born a country girl, Hillary turned into one when she and Tom moved to Krum. Her favorite place to shop was Tractor Supply and she loved to mow the pastures on her 50-year-old John Deere tractor. If the tractor broke you can bet that she was the one who fixed it. If it was an animal and slightly cute, it was coming home with Hillary. She would randomly come home with new dogs, cats, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, and even a pig or two. She was definitely related to Dr. Dolittle because she was always talking to the animals. After a long hard day of work she would love nothing more than to end the night, Slurpee in hand, relaxing on the front porch with
family.

Hillary was a woman of strong faith. She is now safely in the arms of Our Lord, undoubtedly watching over the precious family she left behind, including her husband, Tom Medelberg; daughters, Jennifer and Katie Medelberg; sons, Brandon and Chase Medelberg; mother, Diane Lusk; sisters, Jennifer Panzera and Kim Stinson; brothers, Bill and Kevin Lusk; and granddaughter, Molly Farmer.

Hillary's family and friends will remember her and celebrate her life at her home in Krum on her birthday, July 7th. Hoping she is having a drink with her father, Bill Lusk, while yelling at her father-in-law, Ted Medelberg, to get the babies off of the roof, we will gather to raise a glass to one of the most amazing and
selfless people to walk this earth.
