Homer Keith
Bettis Jr.
September 15, 1988 – August 11, 2018
KJ was born September 15,1988 and went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2018 after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, William Homer Bettis, grandmother, Doris Jean Ivory, grandfather, Dale Eugene Boggus and brother, Brian Keith Bettis.
He is survived by his loving parents Homer Keith Bettis Sr. and Becky Eugenia Bettis, his sister, Cejay Eugene Bettis and her daughter, Kayla Ray, and grandmother, Clara Darlene Mayfield.
Homer Keith Bettis Jr was known by many names, Homer, KJ, Kage, and Uncle Homie, but no matter what he was called, some things never changed, his astounding love for his family and friends.
K.J was a wonderful man who stood firmly in Christ. Over his life he had interest in many things such as video games, his saxophone, the galaxy, computers, motorcycles, and so much more. He loved to collect a multitude of things as well. Anyone who knew KJ knew one thing he wouldn't stand for is bullying. He was a friend to anyone who needed one and has literally given the shirt off his back. He had a special spot in his heart for animals especially his dog Sandy. Music played a big role in KJ's life as well, from his walk with God, to moments of sadness, to moments of pure joy; to KJ there was a song for everything. His favorite song was Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd and the song really depicted who KJ was as a man.
