H.W. (Art) Whitworth, Sr., 89, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was born on December 13, 1923 in Argyle to George Jackson Whitworth and Bertha Mae George Whitworth. He married Dortha Perkins on June 11, 1941.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 2-4 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:30 am at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Andy Walters officiating.

H.W. is survived by his wife, Dortha; daughter, Pamela Hawkins and husband Harold; sons, Lyle Jackson Whitworth and wife Janie, Wallace Whitworth, Jr. and wife Barbara, Denver Whitworth and wife Sandra, and Donnie Whitworth; brother, W.T. Whitworth; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Opal Walters; brothers, Denver Brewer and Jerry Whitworth; and grandson, Daniel Brent Whitworth, M.D.
