Imogene "Jean" South, formerly of Denton, passed away on May 12, 2022 in Kingston, Oklahoma. She was born in Krum, Texas on December 9, 1928 to Marion and Artie (Jones) Harris.

Jean grew up in Kruger, TX and went to school in Krum, TX. She worked at TWU for 28 years. She is loved by so many people, she attended faith Tabernacle Assembly of God for many years. Mama always tried to visit people that was shut in as often as possible. She loved her dog Miles so much! She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Brown of Kingston, Oklahoma, six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin "Hoot" South, son, Ronny South, sister, Marie Stephenson, and brother Clyde "Sonny Boy" Harris.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.
