Irene Josephine Hayes, 92, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. She was born on August 21, 1920 in Peoria, IL to Edward Hofferd and Francis Josephine Hierolzer. She graduated from high school in Aurora, MO in 1940. She married Charles F. Hayes in Oklahoma City in 1970. She was a member of the Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Dr. Rick Montgomery officiating.

Irene is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Delrene Carter and husband Kent and Robin Ritter and husband Jerry; step children, Cynthia Hayes, and Nick Hayes; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lucille Hofferd; and brother, Robert Hofferd.
