Irma Jean Lollar Guin of Krugerville, Texas went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2016. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Frank Sudduth; grandchildren and their spouses, Blake and Dana Sudduth, Lauren and Colin Denison; great granddaughters, Audrey Sudduth, Caroline and Lily Ann Denison; brother-in-law and his spouse, Lester and Ann Guin; and seven nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Zelpher Lollar; sister, Mary Lollar; sister and her spouse, Jimmie and Robert Clarkson; sister-in-law and her spouse Loyette and Dempsey Lollar.
Irma was born in Columbus, Mississippi on February 11, 1931. She was a graduate of Lee High School, class of 1949. She was a life long learner, earning a bachelor's degree in education from Mississippi State College for Women, a master's degree in education and an educational specialist degree from Mississippi College. She lived most of her adult life in Jackson, Mississippi; then moved to Texas thirteen years ago to be close to her daughter and her family. She was employed in several clerical positions before entering a twenty eight year career as an elementary school teacher.
Irma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, teaching Sunday School, reading, working word puzzles and sewing. She was a very sweet lady with strong organizational and homemaking skills. She had an iron clad will that enabled her to overcome physical difficulties and excel as a wife, mother and teacher. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2:00 followed by a memorial service at 3:00.
