Jack DeEstaing Bucklin, 85, was born April 19, 1929 in Chaffee, Missouri and died March 17, 2015 in Denton, Texas. He is survived by his wife Gloria Sanchez Bucklin of Roanoke, TX; daughter Laura Lyn Bucklin Bissell of Harrogate, England and three sons Scott DeEstaing Bucklin of Dallas, TX, Jason Ray Bucklin of Garland, TX and Daniel Dean Bucklin of Roanoke, TX; his sister Joan Colee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jack was a 'renaissance man' who wrote poetry and novels. He loved literature, art and classical music, but he was also a businessman who founded and managed many companies. In his retirement, Jack could always be found with a book in his hands and a dog by his side. Jack will be best remembered for his great sense of humor which he maintained until the very end despite being in a wheelchair after a stroke in 2011 and living with terminal cancer during the last eight months of his life. Jack will be greatly missed by us all.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at the Denton Woman's Club, 610 Oakland, Denton, Texas 76201. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the 11:30 a.m. memorial service on Wednesday, 25th of March.
