Obituary

Jack Lyles Cox Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Oak Point, Texas, surrounded by family on May 27, 2025. He was born on January 23, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Jack and Norma Cox.

After graduating from Wichita Falls High School, Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Following his service, he attended Oklahoma City University and later found his true calling in auto sales. Jack became a top-performing car salesman, earning numerous awards and recognitions throughout his long and successful career. Jack married Patricia Williams, and together they raised two children, James and Lori. He was known not only for his professional achievements but also for his love of life. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, was a formidable pool player, and cherished every moment spent with his family and friends.

Jack is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Miranda and Kyle McNeece, Mallorie and JD Hinojosa, Cole and Jade Belew; his treasured great-grandchildren: Karlee and Keaton McNeece, Weston Cox, Jayse and Maelynn Hinojosa, Carolann, Kyelyn, Kamdyn, and Koen Belew. His children: James Cox, Lori Belew and her husband Mike. He also leaves behind close friends Lynda Leonard and Bobby Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Norma Cox; Patricia Cox; nephew, Michael Klinglesmith; and best friend Jim Whitmer.

A celebration of Jack's life and cremation burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Jack will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his humor, heart, and the joy he brought to those who knew him.
