IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack Austin
Dow
July 27, 2000 – March 18, 2025
Jack Austin Dow passed away on March 18, 2025 at the age of 24. He was born on July 27, 2000, in Grapevine, Texas to Eric and Angie Dow. Ponder, Texas was his hometown, where he attended school from kindergarten until graduation. Jack initially attended college at Texas Tech University, and he ultimately finished his degree at Texas Woman's University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. Jack was in the process of pursuing a master's degree in analytics.
Growing up, Jack loved playing and watching sports (especially baseball with his brother and fellow teammates). He played with and against a number of notable players on the field, including current MLB All Stars, but in his family's mind, Jack was always the best player on the diamond. On weekends in the fall, you'd often find him in a deer stand or a duck blind (unless he was with certain family members, in which case duck hunting from the pickup was just fine with Jack).
Jack loved to learn, and he put 110% into everything he aspired to do. Jack put incredible thought and care into every aspect of his life, and he strived to live his life to the best of his abilities. He was smart, hard working, funny, chiseled (mentally and physically), and the best son, brother and uncle that anyone could have ever asked for. Jack cared immensely about his family, and he brought a certain light into their lives that only he was capable of emitting.
Jack is survived by his parents, Eric and Angie Dow, and sister, Magen Dow of Ponder, Texas; brother, Jacob Dow, his wife, Kaila, and their son, Anderson Dow of Argyle, Texas; grandparents, Jack and Donna Dow of Bowie, Texas, Frank and Cindy Camp of Plano, Texas, Lee and Pam Harrington of Forestburg Texas, and Janice Dunn of Denison, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Dunn of Denison, Texas, and several other family members, including his Mamaw, Virginia Harrington of Bowie, Texas, who his family hopes is holding him now and making him laugh once more in a way that only Mamaw could.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5 PM until 7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at CrossRoads Church in Decatur, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jack Dow Family Foundation at the link below.
