Obituary

Jack Oliver Faegre, age 88, passed away in his home in Denton, Texas Saturday, March 11, 2023.  He will be missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew him.  Jack was born to Selmer Albert Faegre and Mabel Lucile Monroe in Jefferson Township, Allamakee County, Iowa June 15, 1934.

Jack graduated from Iowa State University with an Engineering Degree and served as an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1959 to 1969, retiring as a Captain. Jack then moved to Texas to raise his family where he initially joined Texas Instruments in Dallas before moving to other engineering roles at Frito-Lay and Rockwell International.  He was a proud Texan and a lifelong supporter of the Dallas Cowboys.  In his younger years Jack was also an avid skier and loved taking ski vacations with his family in Colorado.

He retired from Rockwell International and settled in the Robson Ranch Community just outside of Denton.  During his retirement years he was highly active in Denton County elections as an Election Judge and served as Republican Precinct Chair for Robson Ranch, the only person to hold that office in his precinct.  One of his passions was making sure that the people in his community had an opportunity to vote.  He was very instrumental in convincing the Robson executives to allow the clubhouse to be a polling site for Early and Election Day Voting.

Jack is survived by his wife, Creeda.  Children: son Kyle Faegre and his wife Wendy of Plano, Tx;  daughter Carrie Miller and her husband Ken of Yorktown, Va.;  daughter Lorna Fallon (deceased); Creeda's sons Brandon Forsythe of Dallas, Tx and Christopher Forsythe of Frisco, Tx.  Sister: Phyllis Carpenter of McKinney, Tx.  Jack also has six grandchildren: Max, Sam, Heather, Elliott, Nathaniel and Ashlyn and one great grandchild, Maci.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held Saturday March 25 at 2pm at the New Life Church located at 1350 Milam Rd E, Sanger, Tx.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association in his memory.
