Jack Read Haynes, 87, of Denton, Texas passed away February 02, 2020. He was born June 14, 1932 in Dangerfield, Texas to Jack E. Haynes and Mary Beuhla Read Haynes.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Jack attended North Texas State University and Texas Christian University. He was a professor of psychology at University of North Texas prior to his retirement.
A longtime resident of Denton, he was active in his community; he volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels, served on the board of Habitat for Humanity and the session of Trinity Presbyterian, where he was a member.
Jack married Tempie Kyla Newton in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 23, 1960. They went on to have a daughter, Kyla and two sons, Kenneth and Dennis
He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Tempie and son, Dennis. Jack is survived by his daughter, Kyla Welch, son, Kenneth Haynes, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors for visitation on Thursday, February 06, 2020 from 5-7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 07, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Denton, Texas with Pastor Craig Hunter officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, also in Denton.
