Jack Monroe Norton, 92, of Aubrey, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2026. He was born on April 29, 1934, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Henry Allen and Gladys Mae (Monroe) Norton.
Jack spent his career at Calcasieu Marine National Bank in Lake Charles, where he served as a commercial loan officer and later as vice president. He was loved by many customers who still remember him to this day.
Jack met the love of his life, June, on a blind date, and they married in 1966. They shared 56 years together until her passing in 2022. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Teresa and Marti.
After retiring, he and June followed Marti to Texas, settling in Aubrey. Jack loved to work out and never missed a chance to show off his biceps. As a young man, he was even featured in a magazine for his fitness. He was an avid gun collector who enjoyed going to the shooting range, and he loved telling jokes and watching Judge Judy. His faith was central to his life, and he read his Bible every day.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June Norton, and his elder daughter, Teresa Knippers.
He is survived by his younger daughter, Martha Jo (Marti) Essary, and her husband, Tim, and by his grandchildren: Alan Morgan and his wife, Ashley; Heather Gothreaux and her husband, Timothy; Makenzie Baranowski and her husband, Mike; Parker Essary; and Regan Essary. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Will, Ava, Zach, and Ellie.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church in Denton, Texas.
