Jackie Lee Fairbanks Ross was called home by the Lord on July 16, 2018. She was born on May 21, 1948 in Providence, Rhode Island to Captain John Fairbanks and Autra Lee Fairbanks. She was the proud and loving mother of 5 children whom she leaves behind on this earth, and 14 grandchildren. She also is survived by her brother James Fairbanks and her sister Julie Fairbanks. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Fairbanks, and her precious grandbaby Jackson.

Jackie was steeped in military life as a child and a young adult, and she courageously raised her first two children alone while their father was in Vietnam. She also loved aviation and took flying lessons from her dad. She took her first solo flight in 1972.

Jackie raised her family in Longview and then Denton, Texas, where she has lived since 1986. Jackie earned her bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University and then worked for years as a social worker in Denton, Texas. She also volunteered with the homeless and underprivileged in the Denton community. Jackie loved her family immensely and enjoyed her quiet retired life with her yorkie Bridgette. She was blessed to live near all of her children in her later years. Jackie lived a full life, was loved greatly and leaves behind her legacy to carry on her memory in all her children and grandchildren.

Jackie loved the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart.

Our beloved mom will always live on in our hearts. We miss you so much.
