IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacob Anthony
Peterson
April 12, 1993 – February 20, 2022
Jacob (Jake) Anthony Peterson went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 20, 2022. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 12, 1993. At 2 years old, Jacob was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis and struggled with the side effects of the disease throughout his life. For many of his younger years he received medical help at the Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. Beginning with his elementary school years through his high school years, he enjoyed learning in special education classes.
Being raised by a single mom, at age 19, Jacob moved from Haslet, Texas to a residential group home at Breckenridge Village in Tyler, Tx. In addition to attending special ed classes, he also participated in many programs such as delivering food to the elderly, assembling boxes for donation at the Food Bank and riding horses. Every morning Jacob started his day attending a Christian worship service and on Sunday mornings they went with some of his residential roommates occasionally to the Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.
At age 22, Jacob moved into a residential care home in Mansfield, Texas to be closer to his family. He went to Mansfield High School and graduated in year 2015. While being in both special ed and regular classes, Jacob worked at a nearby state special needs supported facility where he worked in an assembly program. While living at the group home here, Jacob's live-in house mother taught him how to give thanks to God for his daily meals as well as to pray to Jesus to seek His help in relief during those stressful periods when he was overcome with physical side effects from his health issues. This past year he lived in Denton, Texas. He attended the Adult Daycare at Together We Care where he enjoyed daily activities that were assigned to him within the group. Jacob always made everyone fully aware that he "does not like to be bored."
Jacob loved sports and exercised every day. In his leisure time he would watch the Lion King and shoot hoops at a basketball park near his group home residence. He also loved to go to the bowling alley and roll strike after strike. Jacob loved music and he could frequently be seen with his headphones on listening to one of his favorite songs, "I Ran" by A Flock of Seagulls.
He always wanted to spend time with his family, and he loved cleaning, especially vacuuming. Jacob told everyone around him (even total strangers), how much he loved his family and friends. He would always brag on how good his mother was to him. They spoke at least twice a day and never missed enjoying one full day a week together. He loved her dearly and made sure he told her in every conversation. Jacob's heart was as big as he was, all 6'5" 325 lbs. His love was total unconditional pure love.
Jacob is survived by his mother, Kalyn Pampolina Peterson, his sister Angela Peterson, his stepsister Jennifer Peterson & wife Katie, his stepbrother Zachary Peterson & wife Kristina, his grandparents Peter Pampolina & Linda, his grandmother Martha Switzer, his uncle Michel Pampolina & wife Mindy, and his cousins Molli Boren and Meredith Pampolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Jacob's Go Fund Me Page" where funds will be devoted to funeral expenses and Jacob's Adult Dayhab. https://gofund.me/c59df676
