January 31, 1955 – December 9, 2023
James "Richard" Boldin, 68, passed away on December 9, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was raised in Denton, Texas and graduated from Denton High School in 1973. Richard met Glenda on November 20, 1993, and they were married on December 10, 1994. He started his career as a licensed plumber shortly after high school, working for over 40 plus years. Richard worked for CMS formerly CBS Mechanical Service for 32 years.
Richard became a member of the Denton Elks Lodge in December of 1997. He held office as a trustee for seven years, Esteemed Leading Knight and served as a House Committee Chair for several years. He did volunteer work for the Veterans, Hoop Shoot, Christmas Baskets, and organized the annual Golf Tournament for several years. Richard also cooked burgers once a month on Wednesday night for several years. He could make a mean burger. He was a member and volunteer at the North Texas State Fair in Denton for many years.
Richard enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He enjoyed driving his side by side to the beach and riding around visiting with his friends. His hobbies included traveling, fishing,playing golf, hunting, and he loved grilling for his family and friends. Richard's greatest love was spending time with his family and friends, especially on his favorite holidays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He spent his last 2 years at his forever home on Lake Texoma with his wife Glenda and their dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Boldin, children, Jason Boldin and spouse Jacki, Jennifer Wilkins and spouse Cris, Toby Allen and spouse Tanda, Sunny Parr and spouse Sam, grandchildren, Caitlyn Campbell, Brice Hardaway, Carlee Hardaway, Faith Boldin, Ty Allen and spouse Isabel, Tate Allen, Tava Allen, Kobie Parr, and Kassie Parr, sisters, Louise Skelton and spouse Dan, Lanette Robinson and spouse Ed, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Carol Boldin and his sister; Lyndell Boldin.
A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on March 2, 2024, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center located at 400 East Hickory Street in Denton, Texas . *services will start at 2:00*
