James Lester Brusveen, 57, of Roanoke, Texas passed away on July 24th, 2018. He was born on September 22nd, 1960 in Madison, Wisconsin to Marvin and Ann (LaRaeu) Brusveen.

James attended Collinsville High School in Oklahoma. He enlisted in The United States Army and served 23 years before retiring in 2001. James reconnected with childhood friend Terri Casey, and they were married in 2004. James loved life. He enjoyed dancing, NASCAR, and good food. He had a deep love for people, and was eager to spend his spare time with family and friends. He was a hard worker with exceptional work ethics. You weren't just a friend to James, you were his family.

James is survived by his wife Terri Brusveen of Roanoke, TX, daughters; Penny Smith of Kenton OH, Linsay Bowline of Bartlesville, OK, Shannon Pelley of Calera, OK, Kristi Wilson of Gainesville, TX, and BrookLyn Hallum of Roanoke, TX, one son, Travis Brusveen of Tulsa, OK, his brothers; Marvin Brusveen Jr. of Elkins, AR, and David Brusveen of Tulsa, OK, sisters; Margaret Smith of Muskogee, OK, Pam Hodges of Tulsa, OK, 12 grandchildren; Gaia, Urkel, Laken, Layne, Haley, Heather, Hannah, Dylon, Trinity, Gavin, Tatum, Carson, and the expected September arrival of his first great grandchild, Briar. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sister; Wanda Mcgraw, brothers; Bob and Ed Brusveen.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
