It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Gregory DeHaas, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend. Greg was born July 28, 1960 in Enid, Oklahoma, and gained his wings July 24, 2024.
Greg was incredibly brilliant, and amazing with numbers, which led him to a career in metrology at Lockheed Martin missiles and fire control, where he built many friendships.
Designated family handyman and Mr. fix-it (who was adamant about imparting his knowledge on you either prior to or during the project), an avid sports fan who loved his Sooners, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.
He was a kid at heart that loved sharing his hobbies with the family, grands and friends; which included but was not limited to card games, backgammon, music & concerts, boating and fishing, golfing, flying model airplanes, rc cars, slot car tracks, shooting and hunting, tinkering on anything in the shop (especially if it was a Ford or a tractor), and more !
Greg was a star gazer and enjoyed sharing his love of the moon and stars, we all enjoyed dragging the telescope out and learning about our space.
He married Margaret November 3,2012 and they both say they were lucky to find the love of their life. They enjoyed visiting MLB ballparks and hoped to visit all stadiums. They traveled, camped, fished and were on their way to enjoy retirement.
