Obituary

James Arthur D'Entremont, Sr. moved on from Denton, TX to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Jim was 95 years old, having been born in Boston MA on January 3, 1918. In February 1940 Jim married his wife of 72 years, Ruth E. Schneider also of Boston (Roslindale). Jim and Ruth have 4 children: sons, James Arthur of Denton, Robert Francis (Rocky) of Mount Holly, NJ, Keith David of Wilmington, MA, Phillip Glen of Ashburnham, MA, and a daughter, Judith Elaine Deneault who predeceased him. Jim and Ruth grew up in Roslindale MA and raised their family living in Jamaica Plain, Walpole and Wilmington, MA.

Jim leaves behind his wife Ruth, four sons, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and his "baby" sister, Edith Smith (97) of Los Angeles, CA. Jim is preceded in death by his daughter Judith Elaine D'Entremont Deneault, parents, James Tomas D'Entremont and Mary Martha Mailett, originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, brother F. Robert D'Entremont and sisters Claire D'Entremont, Iva Chisholm, Marian Keiran and Janette Torisano, all of the Boston area.

After high school Jim worked in the shipyards building ships for the Navy and then served in the U.S. Navy in the later part of WW II. Following the war he began his career in the commercial refrigeration and air conditioning industry, working primarily with the Boston Air Lagasee Company, and a stint with Rust Craft Greeting Cards. Upon retiring in the mid 1980's Jim and Ruth moved to Safety Harbor, FL to enjoy the warmer climates and be near their daughter Judith's children. In 2008 Jim and Ruth moved to Denton to be closer to their son James and several grandchildren, residing first in the Good Samaritan Society Village on Hinkle and then in the Vintage Towers Assisted Living Residence. Jim made many friends in both communities, enjoying his poker evenings, bingo and meals. He was not one to miss a meal.
