James "Dan" Dodd, 75, of Argyle passed away on March 10, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was born March 21, 1941 in Springtown, Texas to Clarence D. and Blanche S. (Denny) Dodd. He married his best friend Dorothy E. Wheeler on August 23, 1984 in Las Vegas. Dan served in the Army National Guard.

Dan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy E. Dodd, daughter, Donna Bishop and husband David, son, Darren Dodd and wife Tracey, step-daughter, Rayma LePoris and step-son, Jerry Hilliard, three granddaughters, Lindsay Gaffney, London Wilson, Skyla Leporis and one grandson, Braydin Clark, four Great Grandchildren, Brenden, Brynlee, Braxton, and Brodie, two brothers, Denney L. Dodd and Don G. Dodd and one sister, Kathryn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Blanche Dodd, two sisters, Barbara Ann Dodd and Mary Jane Dodd.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 13, 2017 from 3-4 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors with a Memorial service to follow at 4:00 P.M. immediately following the memorial will be a celebration of life at the Denton Elks Lodge located at 228 E Oak St, Denton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Dan's honor.
