"Glen" Savage
July 31, 1930 – April 23, 2018
James Glenmore "Glen" Savage, Jr. 87 of Corinth, passed away at his home on Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born in Lewisville, TX to James Glenmore Savage and Bertha Lillian McCurley Savage. He was a graduate of what is now the University of North Texas and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Glen was a successful business owner with his long-time partner Ralph Flesher, DVM. Glen was also a Professor of Government at the University of North Texas. He served in the US Army during the Korean War but was released early to work in Washington DC for Congressmen Frank Ikard and Sam Rayburn. Glen married Marcia Stuart on June 14, 1957 in Denton she preceded him in death on July 15, 1997. To their union they were blessed with two daughters, Suzanne Savage who passed in April of 1976, and Michelle Savage Satterfield and her husband Jack and their two children James Clayton and wife Kristin Satterfield and Stuart Satterfield who all survive him.
Glen later married Betty Keniff on October 16, 1999; she and her children survive him; daughters, Kelly and husband David Dvoracek and their daughter Hannah and Karen Keniff and husband David Hewett.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Jim Porter officiating. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of you choice.
